Mike Morrish (1934 - 2004)
By profession Mike was a meteorologist and after working at the London Weather Centre moved to the Southampton Weather Centre. For ten years he regularly gave weather forecasts on BBC South.

Living in this village he was a church warden of St Mary's and an active member of the Parochial Church Council. Probably due to his fascination with clocks he took on the task of winding the Michelmersh church clock. He had been a leading member of the village of Michelmersh and became ever more involved in the local community working with Marie Curie Cancer Care, the National Children's Homes and the Michelmersh Silver Band and often compared their concerts. He joined the Romsey Rotary Club, whose aims became important to him.

On retirement, with Shirley his wife, they moved to Cornwall to be nearer her family. He became much involved with the Cornwall Family Society and the community near Truro. Whilst on holiday in the U.S. visiting their daughter and family, he became ill and on returning to Cornwall died in hospital in Truro
